JOB – COLORADO ROCKIES

JOB TITLE: FULL TIME MINOR LEAGUE PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE COACH – LOWER LEVEL

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Colorado Rockies Baseball Organization is now accepting applications for their full time Physical Performance coaching position.  The hired Physical Performance coach will be responsible for implementing all aspects of the Colorado Rockies Physical Performance program outlined below. The hired candidate will be asked to relocate to Scottsdale, AZ at the time of hire.  This is a salaried and benefited position, which will be discussed upon hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES – *Other duties not listed below may be assigned.

• Lead or assist in organized team warm-up, mobility/flexibility work and speed/agility/skill work.

• Lead athletes through weight training sessions at all times.

• Hold athletes accountable to their training programs in all aspects.

• Assist Major League staff and Minor League Coordinator with performance testing.

• Comprehend all aspects of the Colorado Rockies performance software system.

• Execute all tasks given pertaining to the Colorado Rockies performance software system.

• Provide proper nutritional counseling to athletes.

• Understand and enforce MLB’s supplement policy.

• Keep training center clean and organized at all time.

• Communicate consistently with the Minor League Coordinator.

• Communicate daily with manager, sport coaches and athletic trainer.

• Assist athletic trainer with rehab programs.

• Communicate with athletes throughout the off-season.

• Lead or assist in all aspects of the Colorado Rockies off-season program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (100 WORDS OR LESS):

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in an exercise science related field, CPR/First Aid Certified, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach through the NSCA and a strong desire to pursue a career in Strength and Conditioning.

Master’s Degree in an exercise science related field, Fluent in Spanish, Baseball Background are all preferred but not required.

JOB DURATION:  FULL TIME
