Major League Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Pittsburgh Pirates

Terence Brannic is in his 10th year as a strength and conditioning coach and coordinator in professional baseball and his first as a Major League Strength and Conditioning Coach. His coaching career started in 2012 as a minor league strength and conditioning coach for the Oakland A’s short-season team in Vermont. He was Oakland’s AA strength and conditioning coach in 2013 and 2014 (Midland, TX) and AAA coach in 2015 (Nashville, TN). He was the A’s Assistant Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in 2016 and 2017 and Assistant Major League Strength and Conditioning Coach from 2018 to 2020. Terence joined the Pirates in 2021 as their Major League Strength and Conditioning Coach.

A native of Oceanside, CA, Terence earned four letters in football and track at El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA. After high school, he enrolled in the Kinesiology Program at Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM where he was a member of the football team for four years and earned a BS in Kinesiology in 2011. Terence did post-graduate work at A. T. Still University in Mesa, AZ after college and earned a MS degree in Kinesiology in 2014.

He lives in Mesa, AZ in the off-season with his fiancé (Christa) and they are expecting their first child (girl) in July.

Terence is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

He is a proponent of creating robust athletes capable of withstanding the rigors of the sport and helping them establish a sound physical and mental foundation for continued development and optimal performance on the field.
